Sarah Slamen is a reproductive rights activist and political consultant from Missouri City, TX. Raised in the southwest suburb of Fort Bend County, she discovered her love for policy and public speaking as a Lincoln-Douglas debater and Constitutional Law competitor at Elkins High School. After graduating with a degree in Political Science from the University of Houston in 2008, Slamen has worked on local, statewide and presidential campaigns. Some of her most recent campaigns include the 2015 election of Louisiana's Governor John Bel Edwards and 2016's presidential primary campaign for Senator Bernie Sanders. During Texas' 83rd legislative session, Slamen gained national media attention for her activism within the coalition that fought Texas' 2013 omnibus anti-abortion bill. Aside from campaign work, she's appeared as a political contributor to HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, MSNBC's The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell, The Reid Report, and The Ed Schultz Show. Slamen currently works as Policy Director for the Texas Young Democrats and political director to Ft. Bend County Commissioner Richard Morrison.

Slamen has provided a wealth of experience from first hand interactions on the nature of voters and how that affects governance. She has underscored the importance of guiding research on the US government based off competing interests and partisanship and how they effect the structure of institutions. Further, she has directed Ali to a wide variety of scholarly sources from her own research she conducted as part of college. Slamen has also pushed to include research various contemporary issues and how they then reflect the original architecture of the Constitution.
