A More Perfect Union

ABOUT
The United States of America is the world's longest lasting and most vibrant democracy; a testament to both the genius of the Founding Fathers and to the American endeavor to forge a more perfect union. Our governement is a product not of a dated piece of parchment, but a Constitution that embodies change and encourages constant progress. Our Constiution does not pretend to be perfect, only to be more perfect than the former. This Capstone seeks to study the beginnings of our government and it's progression rooted in the existence of three equal branches through the writings of the Founders as well as the contemporary dynamics of Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches.
What is Capstone?
The Capstone course is part of the curriculum at the Global Studies Academy, an application based program located in Fort Bend ISD that seeks to equip students to effectively solve the challenges society will face in the future while developing as multi-faceted global citizens. Students are empowered to become innovative global thinkers who celebrate diversity. The four-year academic program culminates in the Senior year Capstone course, which allows students to
blend their personal educational interests and skills to study a topic of their own selection under the guidance of a campus and a community mentor: by reading widely over the topic as well as by pursuing learning through non-traditional means through:
-
internship/ job shadowing,
-
service learning,
-
product creation, OR
-
extended independent study
